On January 20, 2022, Amazon announced they were going back to old-fashioned brick and mortar with their new store, Amazon Style. Amazon has long been the one stop shop for all things needed online. Now they are looking into expanding their presence in physical stores. They will bring the convenience of shopping online into their new tech-savvy store.

The store will be opening up at The Americana at Brand in the greater Los Angeles area. Long gone are the days of sifting through racks, hoping to find the right size and right color. Customers will be able to simply scan an item’s QR code to see sizes, colors, reviews, and other product details. Customers can then decide whether to try it on in a fitting room or directly pick it up at the counter.

What else can you expect from this tech-savvy store? All items which a customer requests to try on will be then readily available to in their fitting room. Customers can continue to shop from their fitting room with personalized recommendations based on Amazon’s machine learning algorithm. On-site operators will deliver the items directly to your fitting room and then to the counters. The scale of Amazon’s online selection will extended to the store as well. The store will house hundreds of different brands and thousands of products from varying price points.

The exact date of opening is yet to be announced however it is said to be later this year. Amazon has slowly been expanding its reach into physical stores. Amazon has several other stores including Amazon Books, Amazon 4-star, Amazon Go and the acquisition of Wholefood in 2017. Paired with Amazon’s tech, these stores offer a re-imagined customer experience that no other store has done quite just yet.
